PoE Powered Ethernet Extender Over 2-Wire or Coax | Master Side PD – No Local Power Needed | Up to 800 m (500 m PoE) | LAN & PoE Repeater Booster Bridge | DIN-Rail or Wall Mount
The PoE Powered Ethernet Extender enables long-distance Ethernet and PoE transmission over 2-wire, twisted pair, or coaxial cable. The master unit operates as a PoE Powered Device (IEEE 802.3af/at) and requires no local power, making it ideal for installations where AC power is unavailable. Ethernet and PoE can be extended up to 500 m with PoE or up to 800 m for data-only operation. Designed for IP cameras, access control, elevators, tunnels, and legacy cabling environments.

Technical Specifications
Application 1 – PoE-Powered Operation (Local Side as PD)

In this configuration, the local unit of the PoE Powered Ethernet Extender operates as a
Powered Device (PD) and is powered directly from a PoE Ethernet switch or PoE injector
(IEEE 802.3af/at).
Both power and Ethernet data are transmitted over the existing 2-wire or coaxial cable
to the remote unit, which then provides PoE output to the connected device such as an IP camera,
sensor, or access point.
This mode is ideal for installations where no local power source is available, including
elevators, tunnels, poles, or legacy infrastructure deployments.
Application 2 – Extended Distance with 48V DC Local Power

In this configuration, the local unit is powered by an external 48 VDC power supply,
which increases the available power budget on the 2-wire or coax link and
extends the maximum transmission distance.
By supplying additional local power, the system can support longer cable runs and higher PoE
loads at the remote side while maintaining stable Ethernet throughput.
This mode is recommended for long-distance deployments or applications requiring
enhanced power delivery to remote PoE devices.
| AN-LAN-EXT-ENH-POE-D | DIN-Rail Mounting POE Extender. 2-wire terminal for line interface, RJ-45 for POE LAN port. Local unit (Master) & Remote Unit (Slave) . With 2-wire / BNC converter and 100~240VAC to 48VDC power adapter in set. |
Description
The PoE Powered Ethernet Extender is designed to extend Ethernet and PoE connectivity over existing 2-wire, twisted pair, or coaxial cabling where standard Ethernet distances are insufficient. The master unit operates as a PoE Powered Device (IEEE 802.3af/at) and does not require a local AC power source, making it suitable for power-limited or hard-to-reach installations.
Power & Distance
- Extends Ethernet and PoE up to 500 m (1600 ft) with PoE enabled
- Supports data-only transmission up to 800 m (2600 ft)
- Optional 48 V DC input at the master side for increased distance stability or high-power PDs
PoE Functionality
- Master side operates as a PoE PD powered directly from a PoE switch or injector
- Transparent PoE pass-through delivers real PoE output to the remote device
- Compatible with IEEE 802.3af / 802.3at powered devices
Installation & Design
- DIN-rail or wall-mount industrial aluminum enclosure
- Operating temperature range: –20 °C to +60 °C
- Plug-and-play operation with no configuration or drivers required
System Family
Part of the ADnet Long-Range PoE Extender family, this model is designed as a matched master-remote pair optimized for demanding industrial, surveillance, and infrastructure deployments.
FAQ
Do I need a power adapter on both sides or at master side?
No. The master side is PoE powered (PD) and sends both power and data to the remote unit over the 2-wire link. A 48 V adapter is included only for very long runs (over 500m). Naturally, the remote side will receive power and ethernet signal as well.
Can it work for devices without PoE?
