Q: What are the fiber cable type?
A: Single Mode fiber.
Q: How many fibers need to each ONU?
A: Only one. GEPON uses WDM technology to separate transmit and receive directions on different wavelenghts;
Q: How many ONU's can support one OLT?
A: It's better ask, how many ONU's per 1 PON uplink card. So, it is 64 currently, but you can just add the capacity by adding more PON modules;
Q: What are the interface at OLT for a voice (phone) traffic?
A: It is based on VoIP - each ONU has integrated SIP based gateway, and it is transparrently passed to third party VoIP gateways through OLT.
Q: How do I connect the TV to OLT?
A: In case we talk about the CATV, then it is not to be connected to OLT at all. The additional device, called EDFA injector is needed, and the CATV signal is injected at different wavelenght, typically 1550 nm, and sent to the ONU's, which has integrated CATV module working on this wavelenght.
Q: Will the IPTV work successfully on GEPON network?
A: Yes, for example, AD-net GEPON system supports multicast, that is critical for IPTV and we had made successful tests for IPTV over our GEPON platform;
Q: What is the maximum distance from OLT to ONU?
A: 20 km
